Neon-Styled Action Platformer Solar Ash Has Been Delayed Until December

Solar Ash

Fancy hop, skip and slashing your around a surreal Hyperlight Drifter-style world? You’ll have to wait a while because Solar Ash has been pushed back to December.

Solar Ash is the work of Heart Machine, who also developed the aforementioned Hyperlight Drifter, which we reviewed back in 2016, hence the similar aesthetic. We learnt of this action platformer’s existence back in July, thanks to publisher Annapurna Interactive’s first online showcase, describing it as “…a mash-up of Hyper Light Drifter, developer Heart Machine’s previous title, and Strider, with a dash of Jet Set Radio thrown in.”

However, while it was pencilled in for an October 26th release date, that’s no longer the case. It’s been pushed back to December 2nd, a delay of just over a month.

Should this be cause for concern? Not particularly; there’s not been any associated drama (we’re not talking about Abandoned here) so hopefully this delay is just to add extra polish, and isn’t a last minute dash to fix a horribly broken game.

Solar Ash will slash its way onto PC (via the Epic Games Store) and PlayStation. You can check out the Shadow of the Colossus-esque trailer below or wishlist it on the Epic Games Store here.
