As RPGs go, Disco Elysium is one of the best, and one of the strangest. And now, thanks to GOG, you can get Disco Elysium: The Final Cut on sale for 75% off, making it $9.99/£8.79.
The casts you as a weathered, substance-abusing detective who’s got more issues than most cops. And it’s down to him, along with his sidekick Kim, to solve a murder. What could possibly go wrong?
Despite Harrier “Harry” Du Bois’s questionable competence, there’s no traditional combat in the game. Yes, your game can end suddenly but it’s down to the conversations you have, skill checks and so on.
Let’s just say that, playing Disco Elyisium, you’ll have to watch your words. In Baldur’s Gate 3 if a conversation turns into a fight you can always punch, slice or magic your way out of it. Disco Elysium? Not so much. But it’s gorgeous, gorgeous art-style and amazing story is worth the risk of a violent end.
Now, as part of GOG’s Halloween sale you can get the game on sale for just $9.99 or the equivalent of your local currency. You can also pay a little more and get a soundtrack, art book and more. Given that, outside of the sale, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut normally sells for $39.99 this is a real spooky-season steal and it’s playable on both PC and Mac.
It’s also worth diving into the rest of GOG’s Halloween sale to see what else is on offer. And when you’re done with Disco Elysium? There’s a fantastic YouTube investigation you should watch.
