You can now pre-order a PS5 Pro on Amazon UK

Last month, Sony made PS5 Pro pre-orders live on its own website. If you tried to pre-order anything on PlayStation Direct yourself, you’ll know it was a bit of a farce: users were placed in a “waiting room” until, when pre-orders went live at 10am, they were assigned a random place in a queue. We had to wait over an hour before we could even look at the store. And since the 30th Anniversary Collection went live at the same time, the issue was only compounded.

If you didn’t manage to pre-order a PS5 Pro last month, then, don’t worry: the consoles are now available to order on other stores, including Amazon UK. It launches on Thursday 7th November, and if you buy from Amazon, your pre-order payment won’t be taken until the item ships. Other retailers may take money at the time of ordering.

In case you need a refresher, the PS5 Pro will set you back a rather eye-watering £699.99. It’s a digital-only console, too, so you’ll need to shell out another £100 for a disc drive, should you want to play any physical games. Phew.

But if you care about your games looking as nice as they possibly can, and playing as smoothly as possible, then the PS5 Pro is likely to be a tempting prospect indeed. It has a GPU that’s up to 45% faster than a standard PS5, it can make use of advanced Ray Tracing, and thanks to “PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution” — also known as PSSR — it can upscale content better than ever (think DLSS or FSR, but a system specifically designed for PS5 Pro.)

Plenty of games have already been revealed to have PS5 Pro enhancements, including the new Until Dawn remake, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, Gran Turismo 7 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. You can read more about how developers are using the power of the PS5 Pro to improve their games over on the PlayStation Blog.

We’re not sure how long pre-orders will be available for the PS5 Pro — it’s entirely possible they may sell out before launch. If you want one, we’d recommend jumping on it while you still can, otherwise you’ll have to wait until a restock which will likely come some weeks after the official launch date.
