The 10 Games From E3 2017 That We’re Most Excited For

4. The Evil Within 2

2014’s The Evil Within was a game that enraged us just as much as it wowed us. It was a truly atmospheric title with some great creature design, but performance issues and a little too much reliance on action stopped it from being the masterpiece of horror that we wanted it to be.

We’re truly thankful it’s getting another chance to shine, though, with a sequel that will hopefully right the wrongs that the first game made. The trailer that Bethesda showed off at its conference on Sunday night certainly seemed to suggest that The Evil Within 2 will focus more on scaring the bejesus out of us rather than thrilling us with action setpieces. Hey, and at least this time it won’t be launching with massive black borders (or so we hope…)!

3. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

The news of a Mario and Rabbids crossover leaked a couple of weeks ago, and it was a little hard to believe, if we’re honest. Ubisoft and Nintendo, working together? Nintendo daring to allow their precious Mario to feature in a game that wasn’t a first-party Nintendo title? What is the world coming to?

It turns out those leaks were absolutely correct, and Mario and Luigi are indeed starring alongside a cast of Ubisoft’s signature Rabbids. The resulting game, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle looks absolutely magnificent, with glorious visuals, genuinely funny cutscenes and a clever mix of exploration and combat gameplay.

It looks to play something like a turn-based strategy, but of course the Mario and Rabbids theme keeps everything feeling incredibly fun throughout. It’s coming out in August exclusively for Nintendo Switch, so we won’t have to wait too much longer to get our grubby little mitts on it.
