The 10 Games From E3 2017 That We’re Most Excited For

8. Anthem
Anthem was a completely new surprise at E3 2017, which is a rarity in this age of leaks and early announcements. Coming from BioWare, it was first shown off on Saturday night’s EA conference, with a longer gameplay reveal delivered as part of Xbox’s briefing on Sunday.
It basically looks like a combination of Destiny, Mass Effect and Titanfall – and that can only be a good thing. You take on the role of a ‘Freelancer’ tasked with the job of exploring new, uncharted territory through a wealth of breathtaking landscapes while wearing a badass exosuit.
That’s right – you get to don a massive robot outfit that can be kitted out and customised with a wealth of unique abilities and weapons. Anthem lets you team up with your friends, too, to share the glory of discovery and battle together. Did I mention that graphically, it looks absolutely phenomenal too? We have no release date for it yet, but it’s expected sometime in 2018.

7. Assassin’s Creed: Origins
2016 was the first year since the franchise began that we’ve not had an Assassin’s Creed entry from Ubisoft. After dwindling sales and an underwhelming reception to the last couple of games in the series, Ubisoft wanted to take some time out to make sure the next Creed was as good as it possibly could be. After some pretty heavy leaks – this is Ubisoft we’re talking about, after all – Assassin’s Creed Origins has finally been officially unveiled, and boy, it looks rather special.
I’m a Creed fan anyway, I’m not going to lie. Origins looks like everything an Assassin’s Creed game should be; just more polished, smoother, and prettier than ever. The Egyptian setting looks even more enchanting and beautiful than I could have imagined, and the game’s combat looks like it’s been redesigned from the ground up for a more visceral and enjoyable experience. Better yet, it’s got loot. You heard me; proper RPG-style loot. I’m not sure what more I could ask for, really. Except maybe a flying eagle that I can somehow control with my mind.
…What? There is a flying eagle that I can somehow control with my mind? I’m there.
