12 Amazing Games We Never Quite Finished

5. Beehive Bedlam

Gammon: If you had Sky TV in the UK in the late 90s and early 00s, you were privy to some excellent programmes, films and sports shows. But best of all, you had access to Sky Games — a set of flash games that you could play with the television remote. The best (free) game of all was Beehive Bedlam. It’s essentially a copy of Bust-a-Move in that you have to match coloured balls to pop them and stop them from reaching the bottom of the screen.

It wasn’t the most complex of games, but it was a marvel that you could play it on your TV when you’d had your console confiscated for one reason or another. However, there is a reason that Sky never became a leading console manufacturer, and that’s because the controller was as about as easy to use as a kite in a wind tunnel. If you think you have experienced controller-lag, you haven’t until you have attempted to use a Sky remote to play a game. You would always get to a level where this lag would become impossible to deal with and you would lose.

6. Alice: Madness Returns

Becca: Alice: Madness Returns is one of the best action adventure games I’ve ever played. I love the story of Alice in Wonderland and with American McGee’s creepy take on it, the entire setting of the game is great for those who enjoy a horror atmosphere without actual scares.

The reason I never managed to finish Alice was purely because I never owned it myself. I had to go over to my sister’s to play it on her PlayStation 3 and, when it’d been a while, I’d forget how to play inbetween sessions and had to teach myself all over again each time. Plus, when you get to the end, some of the more challenging boss fights can be extremely frustrating. I have purchased Alice on my PC so the chances are good that I’ll visit her again soon.
