Adorable heist game Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is free on the Epic Games Store

Ever wanted to rob a bank as a root vegetable? Now you can, and it won’t cost you a penny, thanks to the Epic Games Store’s lasest giveaway. From now until Thursday, you can claim the PC version of Turnip Boy Robs a Bank absolutely free.
We’re absolutely up for more of this miscreant; we dabbled in prequel Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion and were suitably impressed by his shenanigans. Robbing a bank seems like a suitable escalation for Turnip Boy and his veggie pals.
Developer Snoozy Kazoo describes it as a comedic action-adventure game with roguelite elements, so you can look forward to your heist going horribly wrong. A lot. You’ll research new weapons, go toe-to-toe with armed foes and generally do whatever it takes to escape with your haul.
Unlike the likes of the Payday series, this is a single-player game but we’re absolutely fine with that. Given the mayfly-like lifespan of many online FPSs, it’s a smarter bet than Turnip Boy: Radish Royale or some other microtransaction-laden outing.
You can download Turnip Boy Robs a Bank from the Epic Games Store, free until Thursday March 12th. This week you can also claim a content pack for free-to-play D&D Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms.
As for next week’s Epic Games Store freebies, from March 12th you’ll be able to get Cozy Grove and WWI FPS Isonzo for the grand total of zero pence. As with other Epic Games Store freebies you have a limited time to claim them, and you do need to create an Epic Games Store account, but once you grab them they’re yours to keep.
