8. “The Great Sea” – The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker

I’ve had a tough badminton training session and I’m pretty tired. After conquering a steep incline of steel steps, I finally reach my flat. I thrust my shoes off my feet, force them into some comfy slippers and trudge into the lounge. I’m hit by the smell of “something” and my flatmates smile before saying, “Alright”. I instantly feel at ease and reply with a simple “yeah”. I crane my neck around and I see the projector is on, the Wii U light is a solid blue and the wall is a moving screen of colour. Link’s sailing across the ocean with the seagulls by his side.

I slump into the couch – forgetting personal hygiene – and promptly become involved in the next grand adventure. One of the most memorable video game soundtracks, The Windwaker is simply unforgettable.

7. “Elwynn Forest” – World of Warcraft

So many hours were spent in the amazing world of Azeroth, battling through the expansions, experiencing so many incredible areas and dungeons. But weirdly my favourite track lies in one of the starting areas.

Its serenity and beauty always reminds me of my first tentative steps into such an expansive world which brought me so many great memories.
