Three new games including Borderlands 3 have landed on Google Stadia this week, and the Stream Connect smart split-screen mode is also being introduced.
Borderlands 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint have all joined the lineup of Google’s Stadia game streaming service this week.
Stadia had a somewhat shaky launch last month, with a pretty disappointing launch lineup and several promised features not initially available, but Google seems to have decided that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is the right game to introduce the Stadia’s unique Stream Connect feature (well, that game had to be good for something, right?)

While traditional consoles struggle to render two simultaneous screens in a local split-screen game, this limitation isn’t so much of an issue for a cloud-based service like Stadia. Stream Connect will allow you and up to three of your Ghost Recon teammates to share your screens with each other, creating the potential for much better coordinated operations.
Unique selling points like this that actually highlight the advantages of a streaming service is probably the best way for Stadia to compete against regular gaming machines, so if Google continues to slowly expand Stadia’s game library and unique features, it might yet live up to its promises.
