Top Five Games From the Show Floor of E3 2017

E3 2017 is now in the history books.

My feet are sore. I’m exhausted and I can’t wait to lay down and sleep in my own bed. With that said, it was a great year and now upon reflection, I’ve decided my top five games of the show – and they might not be what you expect.

Please note that this list only features games that actually had a physical presence at E3. Since a game like Anthem wasn’t at the show, I didn’t consider it.

5. A Way Out

Josef Fares immediately became one of my favourite game makers upon completion of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

Never before have I experienced a game’s mechanics so intrinsically tied to its narrative. Immediately I knew that Fares is a creator who thinks about games in an entirely different way than most designers. My belief was confirmed when EA revealed Fares’ new game, A Way Out, as part of their EA Originals program.

Designed to always be played as co-op in split screen regardless if your partner is online or sitting next to you on your couch, A Way Out promises to deliver another truly unique experience.

If the storytelling matches the mechanics as well as they did in Brothers, Fares will have another classic gem on his hands and video games will be all the better for it.
