10 Upcoming 2018 Movies To Look Forward To (That Aren’t in the MCU or Star Wars)
Rampage
April 20, 2018
The second video game adaptation on my list, Rampage looks like heaps of fun! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reteams with San Andreas director Brad Peyton to adapt the 1986 arcade classic in which players used one of three monsters – an ape, a lizard or a wolf – to cause as much destruction as possible.
Here they’ve taken the very basics of the premise and turned it into King Kong/Mighty Joe Young on steroids and added in human characters to hopefully root for between the special effects carnage. It looks like it has a heart to go along with the big, dumb destruction and I couldn’t be happier about that. It also helps that I’m a sucker for giant animal monsters run amok in movies. More on that later.
God Particle (Untitled Cloverfield Movie)
April 20, 2018
Like 10 Cloverfield Lane, God Particle is a previously existing science fiction project being retrofitted into the Cloverfield brand. Similarly, I expect God Particle’s ties to Cloverfield to be tenuous at best, but I do love a good science fiction film.
There’s been very little released about the film so far – no trailer, poster or even a teaser, but considering how good most of 10 Cloverfield Lane was – minus the parts that attempted to ‘tie’ it to Cloverfield – I have high hopes that this one delivers.
